Rainproof NYC
On June 25th, Rebuild by Design hosted its Rainproof NYC Symposium with over 250 New Yorkers passionate about addressing our city's increasing heavy rainfall in attendance.
The symposium marked the end of its Rainproof NYC Working Group process where the working group members published the recommendations they've been working on for the past six months. A huge shout-out to our steering committee and working group participants for their dedication and hard work over the last few months. You can view their work here>>
Though the working group process has ended, the Rainproof NYC movement has just begun. There is still work to do together towards rainproofing our city!

Rona Taylor, Executive Director of the Central x South East Brooklyn CDC had the honor and privilege of being the community keynote speaker and left those in attendance with a call to action after quoting Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. :
“We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and history, there ’is’ such a thing as being too late. This is no time for apathy or complacency. This is a time for vigorous and positive action.” (MLK, Jr.)
“It is my sincerest hope that we will heed this call and each take vigorous and positive action whenever and wherever we can.”
